Bamboozled
by The Shods
The Shods were formed on the dirty banks of the Merrimack River in Lowell, MA, amidst used syringes and Tylenol bottle crack pipes. But that didn't interest them; only one thing did... music, music, music. One week after they formed, they went into Carl Ayottes studio in Lowell and recorded the EP I'm in Lowell, MA. The Shods went on to sign a deal with Fort Apache/MCA, but the deal went belly up before MCA even listened to the stuff. The Shods released five albums during their eight year career, including, critically acclaimed, "Here come the Shods", 1995's MCA released "Stop Crying", "Bamboozled" (voted best indie record 1998 Boston Phoenix), "Thanks for Nuthin'" (produced by long time Boston rock hero Dave Minnehan), with the regional hit "Eddie Cross", and their final album "Tippy", "An amazing collection of songs, eclectic and wonderful!" -Steve Morse Boston Globe. "The spirit that has driven the great punk and garage bands since day one... the Shods have what it takes to bring old and new school rockers to the same club, and send them home buzzing."- Brett Milano The Boston Phoenix. Voted best live band 2000 WFNX Best Music Poll. "Nobody wears their sweat (not to mention their influences) on their sleeves or rocks a house with more full-on flare, and gusto than the Shods." -Matt Ashare The Boston Phoenix.
